  • Milwaukee, WI -- October 26, 2019

What a pleasure it was to see an old friend tonight with some old friends at the jam-packed Eagles Ballroom in Milwaukee. This was my 33rd Bob show, and I attended with a friend who I had seen over 20 Dylan shows with. It was the seventh time we saw him at the Eagles Ballroom alone, the last one being in 2005. We were joined by a married couple (seated elsewhere) who were seeing Bob for the first time and we saw a few other familiar faces in the crowd. As we waited for the show to begin, we knew that the “Event Staff” were going to be earning their pay and that proved to be the case.

  • South Bend, IN -- November 1, 2019

My review of the show in South Bend: Bob Dylan and his band played in South Bend IN last night November 1. I will remember this show forever (this was my 34th concert by way of comparison).

  • Denver, CO -- October 17, 2019

Bob was so good last night that I saw two people pass out in my vicinity!

  • Mankato, MN -- October 24, 2019

Warm Welcome for Dylan in Minnesota: Bringing It Home at the Mankato Civic Center

I wasn't planning to see Dylan on this current leg of the Never Ending Tour, but the reviews have been so strong I couldn't help myself. Tuesday evening I checked to see what was available and grabbed a $12 seat ($17.17 after fees) and then began working on how to get to Mankato from Duluth. When all was said and done, the experience was memorable.

  • Irvine, CA -- October 11, 2019

I took my brother for his birthday....October 11 Bren Center Irvine, California. First Bob Dylan concert for both of us at 67 and 69 years old. Exciting and full of energy. My heart was overflowing and I was moved to tears by this great artist and his great band. Thank you Bob for keepin’ on keepin’ on!

  • Washington, DC -- December 8, 2019

Loved the final show in DC. Dylan's voice was in good form. Band was tight. Best since Petty. Loved changes in old favs cos new tunes seemed made for lyrics instead of other way around. So good to see Bob on guitar! He even soloed on one of the encores. If this is Bob at 78 I can't wait to see what's next!

  • New York, NY -- November 23, 2019

Fantastic, solemn, slow and beautiful "Lenny Bruce" on piano---not a peep from the audience (except for my remarks and whistling)---sweet "Girl of the North Country" also on piano---awesome honky tonk "Serve Somebody" with Charlie Sexton's new twangy Texas guitar lick, "Honest With Me," with another great twangy rockabilly riff/lick from Charlie . . .

How Bob Dylan is Teaching Humility
The latest Bob Dylan concert humbled, educated and enlightened 2,000. Dylan bans electronics and doesn’t talk much — forcing us to watch, listen and learn.

Restoring concerts to original design? Something told me we needed to see Bob Dylan when he came to the Wharton Center at Michigan State University.

  • Reflections on 2019 U.S. Tour

When it comes to Bob Dylan it's all about transitions. The man's artistic vision is constantly evolving so when you look at a particular album in order to fully appreciate it one needs not only to regard it as a thing-in-itself but also look at the direction it is taking him. Joan Baez says as long as she knew Dylan he was always planning to "go electric." So that means that even before he released FREEWHEELIN Dylan was planning to transition from folk music.

  • Ames IA, Mankata MN, Milwaukee WI -- Oct 23, 24, 26, 2019

I became enthralled with Bob Dylan's music in my teens. In the months leading up to my first concert in the spring of 2000, I remember thinking "I can't believe Bob Dylan is still alive. I should go see him while he's still around."

The '90s were a time when the questions that rattled around your brain couldn't be so easily and quickly answered. Some things could still be mysterious. You only have to rewind 20 years. Remember rewinding?

  • Lowell, MA -- Nov 19, 2019

Dylan once said in an interview that songs are better in concert than on a record and he went into a long explanation to prove his point, but all I remember is that I was thinking to myself this is coming from the guy who released HW61R and BLONDE ON BLONDE... no matter what he says he's already disproved his own point... but last night Dylan finally proved it... some one here posted a review of the Lowell Mass concert and said the rendition performed of "Not Dark Yet" was not as good as the album version...

  • New York, NY -- Dec 7, 2019

Dylan, Charlie, Tony, Donnie and the rest of the guys have made a giant breakthrough in the group dynamics, the sound of the band, --and that includes the vocals, obviously. It started on the 2018 tour and right from the start in California was in full effect this year. I won't compare how this has happened with other bands because as Willie The Shake says "comparison's are odious." But it happens sometimes when a band that has been working out for years suddenly finds their sound. No longer a combination of instruments and vocals, but one big sound.

  • Ames, IA -- Oct 23, 2019

Hello to all Muscatinian music fans, this is what will hopefully be the first of my weekly music columns for the Voice of Muscatine. I’m a 54-year-old music-nerd who has lived in Muscatine for 10 years. When I was two, for Christmas my parents had two record albums under the tree for me, along with some toys. According to my mom, I went right for the albums, then to the record player, and it was two days later before they could get me to open the toys!

  • New York, NY -- Dec 5, 2019

Great show tonight Thursday 5 December 2019 from the men all dressed in black at the Beacon Theatre NYC. My second of three for this ten nights here. It’s a long way for me to be here from Sydney, Australia but well worth it! Nice to chat to fellow Dylan fans before the show which again lived up to all expectations. Set list remained the same and my favourites tonight were a haunting Lenny Bruce, driving Early Roman Kings, sweet Girl from the North Country and reworked Gotta Serve Somebody. The band is tight and excellent - Charlie is just so good.

  • New York, NY -- Nov 23 - Dec 6, 2019

    “So I’ll make my Stand,
    And remain as I am
And say farewell and not give a damn”

Bob Dylan’s residency at The Beacon was a disaster, he should throw in the towel, give it up Bob. Leave us with the memories. Said no-one.

  • Irvine, CA -- Oct 11, 2019

Tickets went on sale Sept 13th for the 1st show of this leg in Irvine, CA Brent Events Center, on the campus of the University, where I'd not been before, but raised my family in the next city over. While I set my 2yr old grandson up for entertainment, I went to the computer to book my own that morning with gratitude I'd had no pet sitting jobs on the books the eve of the show, as one had canceled due to a wedding that got called off! I would be two days post vacay from a whirlwind SW National Parks tour, including the mule ride to Phantom Ranch in Grand Canyon.

  • New York, NY -- Dec 5, 2019

    Bob Dylan at the Beacon
how do you describe ecstasy? How can you name joy? How do you color time? How can you show gratitude? How do you applaud the Way? How do you approve authenticity? How can you merge into sound? How ? is LOVE!

  • New York, NY -- Dec 6, 2019

Bob Dylan and his band performed a magnificent show tonight at the Beacon Theater. That a 78 year old man could put on a concert like that after 50 prior performances across the nation, coast to cost, over less than two months is extraordinary. This was the 64th time I’ve seen Dylan live since 1974. I never tire of him. He’s always reinventing his material, and the band is stellar. New drummer, Matt Chamberlain, and new guitarist, Bob Britt, were excellent. Continuing a trend that started around 2014, Dylan, himself, sounded great.

  • New York, NY -- Dec 6, 2019

Today I immersed myself in observing Bob Dylan during his last of ten Beacon Shows. I have been in awe of the man for 54+ years, and tonight he made my heart sing. He was so on, his phrasing was perfect, his dance moves were delicious, his obvious joy in doing what he does better than anyone ever will, his constant challenging of himself to reinvent his own genius songs and his integrity to his art. I truly felt blessed to be in his presence tonight. Others will review his songs, tonight I focused on the man. His harmonica playing was extraordinary.

  • Buffalo, NY -- April 5, 2013

My Review of the Bob Dylan Concert in Buffalo, NY on April 5, 2013

I left my apartment at 6:30am to catch the Greyhound bus to Buffalo on the day of the concert. My trip to Buffalo was uneventful. As usual on the Greyhound, it took about 45 minutes to pass through U.S. Customs, since all passengers must get off the bus and speak to Customs Officers individually. I had no problems.

  • Hollywood, CA -- October 26, 2012

Something happened at the Hollywood Bowl that doesn't usually happen at Bob Dylan concerts and deserves mentioning. I don't know if it's been mentioned on other reviews or message boards because I haven't had time to check it out. But for the record, I'll give my eyewitness account, right here, right now. Bob and band are just lining up right after "Blowin' In The Wind," Bob's pulling on his curls a little bit like he does. Before you know it, some crazy chick is up on stage running straight for Bob. I mean she was quick.
